I first met Coach Chris when I was 14 years-old, this dates back to the early 80s when I first joined his gym and began my weight lifting journey. There I was, a young impressionable girl in an almost all guy’s weight lifting gym, but I loved it. Chris was like a big brother to me. He took me under his wing and made sure I was properly coached in my weight lifting techniques. He not only taught me valuable life skills but I felt he protected me and helped keep me on the straight and narrow. Once I turned 16 years-old Coach Chris became my first boss as he gave me an opportunity to work at his gym. I have always contributed my strong work ethic to Chris teaching me what is expected from a good employee. When I think about people that have really influenced my life, Chris is at the top. His coaching style is unique as he is always positive and very nurturing. Fast forward, I am now 54 years-old; a mother, a wife, a fitness coach and a retired professional competitive bodybuilder. The life skills Coach Chris taught me over 35 years ago have applied to all areas of my life, and as a result, I am a better person because of his influence.
