On February 12, 2007, Sophia Cucchiara, a 6-year-old girl from Saratoga, California, was deeply moved and inspired by the movie Ryan’s Well, that she decided, regardless of her age, that she too can make a profound difference in the attempt to end world hunger. So much that she has single-mindedly decided to do her part to feed 1,000 children in Malawi, Africa.She pledged to reach her goal by August 1, 2007, and clearly, she needs our help to reach this goal. Let her story inspire you to action and become a citizen of the world.
She knows that with a big dream, she must think even bigger. She's speaking out through local churches and the media to mobilize the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond to help with her dream.
On July 15, 2007, Sophia exceeded her goal having nourished 1003 starving children!
