California Gym – Generation One

Knowing what he really wanted, more importantly, why he wanted it, at the age of 21, Chris went on to open up California Gym.  It became the most successful body-building gym in Northern California.  

During this time frame (1980-1988) Chris also reached the top level of armature bodybuilding, enjoying nine successful years as a world-class competitive bodybuilder.

Having a vision of where the industry was going, Chris expanded his bodybuilding gym in 1988 into a full-service fitness center.





California Gym – Generation Two

Having a passion for youth, Chris has a vision for the future to open a gym with his 21 year-old son.  The gym will be similar to the one Chris opened when he was 21.

Chris will to leverage his business experience and bodybuilding background to positively impact the youth within his local community.  He will use weight training as a way to connect with troubled youth.  His intention is to provide proper mentorship while helping them learn discipline, self respect, as well as how to explore their entrepreneurial skills.
